So on Good Morning America Rielle Hunter announced that she and John Edwards are no longer a couple. She kept the specifics private, but suggested that the media scrutiny had worn the couple down.
I can totally understand. I mean, if I were the mistress of a married man, a married congressman, and had his baby, as his wife was dying of cancer, I’d probably be worn down by the “media scrutiny”, too. I’d just hate it. And the last thing I would do is go make a quiet life with him and escape from the scrutiny together. Nope. There’s a better way to find peace and quiet: Write a tell-all book about the whole sordid affair with my photo on the cover, called “What Really Happened”! Oh yea that’ll kill all that undesirable publicity in no time, I’m sure.
Yes, certainly the attention and scrutiny will die down any second when the book tour stops… right after GMA. Oh wait, an appearance on “The View” is next… maybe the attention will die down after that.
Because we are all that stupid.
The vast chasm separating her words and her actions gives the clear impression that she actually likes the attention and is jettisoning Edwards because he’s no longer required. She has his money, her fame (or infamy… it doesn’t really matter, ask Snooki), a book and a bright future. It’s working out perfectly, as if by plan. Of course, that would make her nothing more than a cold, heartless, calculating, selfish trollop.
