Yesterday Debbie Wasserman Schultz was quoted in The Hill saying,
“What’s really bothersome to me is that it almost seems like my Republican colleagues in Congress and Mitt Romney are rooting for economic failure. I mean, they’ve been hyper-focused on one job, Barack Obama’s, for really the last two years.”
My instinctive reaction:
For three years we have screamed that Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Et. Al., were focused on the wrong issues at the wrong time. Health Care reform when the economy is in it’s current state? Stimulus that obviously failed… er… wasn’t quite as shovel ready as the President thought? Ringing any bells?
We’re not “rooting” for the economy to fail. We are horrified. And we tried to tell you. Remember the Tea Party?
But today Presidential Candidate (Yes I said it) Mitt Romney cut to the bone in suggesting that failure is the President’s Vision, that Obama is hoping for economic collapse because it would require Government to intervene and do more.
