The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the President is using relatively strong language to suggest that an overturn of the individual mandate would be judicial overreach.
Two things disturb me: 1. Obama believes his law so constitutional as to be beyond the need for judicial analysis, and 2. Obama doesn’t appear to believe in the whole Three Branches of Government thing. He does understand how the Federal Government works, doesn’t he?
For his first two years the President enjoyed a Democratic Senate and House. The opportunity was right there to simply draft a utopian health care bill and bring it to life. It was bad enough when it bloomed to over 900 pages, and no one was reading it, and our congressional representatives were telling Americans to enact it to see what’s in it. But now it may not even pass Constitutionality test with the Supremes? That’s breathtaking.
