Chinese to Buy North American Movie Theaters

The LA Times is reporting that Dalian Wanda Group of China has reached an agreement to acquire AMC’s 5,034 screens in 346 multiplexes in the U.S. and Canada. AMC is the second largest theater chain in the United States.

So China owns a massive chunk of Hollywood’s distribution network.  Would that fall under the category of “unintended consequences?”
