Jammie Wearing Fools has a piece up about a recent murder reported as a hate crime.
Shaima Alawadi was beaten in her home and died several days later from the trauma. Her 17-year-old daughter, Fatima Alhimidi, said after the attack that she found a note by her unconscious mother that read: “Go back to your country, you terrorist.”
Ignoring the strange and obvious nature of the note, the media ran with it. But as JWF points out, it’s all a bit too convenient. And now there is evidence that the family was encountering internal turmoil and that Honor Killing may have been a factor. Read the article for yourself.
Meanwhile we hear of a white man beaten, robbed and stripped by a laughing black crowd on Saint Patrick’s Day and two white Tulsa men are arrested for murdering three black men. There’s the story about the New Black Panthers calling for a race war in a “Day of Action” for Trayvon tomorrow. The news is full of examples of bad behavior that crosses racial lines, giving the appearance that the country is falling apart at the seams. And just like Trayvon/Zimmerman, the media pushes The Narrative full force.
We live in an unprecedented era of available information. We have the capacity to educate and inform ourselves. But the media works hard to spread fear and paranoia with these stories, separating us by religious, racial and political stereotypes, fomenting hatred and prejudice, and dividing us with their deliberate misrepresentations.

Aren’t we lucky that our Post-Racial President was elected and subsequently healed us as a nation?
