Heads Are Popping All Over

From the Daily Kos: I’m F*cking Pissed:

I’m fucking pissed, and I’m not going to take it anymore.  I have just sat down and shut up my whole life until I’m backed into a corner, and I feel like I am being backed into a corner now.  I feel like I’ve sat back and watched the Tea Party just freaking take over state after state.  States like Wisconsin, where there are so many Democrats are being taken over by freaking tea baggers.

“The Nephew” is upset, no? Well, I can’t blame him. I’d be pissed, too, if my ideology were exposed as an utter failure when put into practice in the real world. I’d be even more pissed if someone rubbed my face in it, like Moe Lane at RedState:

I would like to offer these words of comfort. When you progressive/liberal/Democratic activists look back on your quest to begin the Wisconsin recall movement, I want you to appreciate the amazing amount of work that you spent on it. You called. You networked. You wrote letters and blog posts. You contributed to opposition groups. You reached out, and found people just like you, and you banded together to fight. You marched, and you stormed the state capital, and you were arrested.  And you kept going, and calling, and struggling, and you put your time, your money, and every atom of your being on the line. For some of you, this was your finest moment. You fought for this. You fought so hard for this.

Oddly enough, I didn’t do any of that, but I won anyway. That’s because you suck, and I don’t.

Well, I didn’t say that they were words of comfort for you.

All that effort, time, money and emotion. It was your finest moment! And the voters told you to STICK IT. You did everything right, and you still lost. “The Nephew” didn’t like that. Not. One. Bit.

Well you know what Moe?  YOU FUCKING SUCK.  You are the exact epitome of the Republican mindset in this country today.  You want yours at the expense of everybody else’s.  Oh, and when you get yours you fucking laugh in our faces.  You haven’t won shit without pouring millions of dollars into it first.  Mitt Romney is a fine example of a Republican.  He can’t win without millions upon millions of dollars to tear down people.  Well I am going to fucking stand up right now and say NO MORE.

NO MORE OF THIS SHIT.  Tomorrow morning, I am going to call/visit/stalk/whatever I have to do to volunteer for President Obama and other Democrats in North Carolina.  I felt demoralized until I read that comment from Moe Lane.  Not anymore.  Instead, I say fuck it.  If I lose every damn fight for the rest of my life, at least I will die trying.

Uhhmmm… Do you get the feeling that he didn’t even read what Mo wrote? Be that as it may, PLEASE STAND UP! Get out and talk! Make your positions known. Be honest and tell people, everyone you can. Get involved. Be passionate. The more people who know you, the better!

#WAR

[Added:] It should be noted that “The Nephew” feels backed into a corner. I know how he feels. It’s why I started this blog, in fact. However, dipshit feels backed into a corner by the results of a democratic election that he lost. I, on the other hand, was backed into a corner by a small but vocal segment of our population that uses Political Correctness and words like “Tolerance” and “Civility” as weapons to silence me. Two quick examples:

  • When Bush is in Office, dissent is the highest form of patriotism. When Obama goes into office, dissent is racist.
  • When the Tea Party forms, they’re violent racist astroturf. Occupy Wall Street, with it’s attendant vandalism, rapes, murder and crime, is a peaceful organic movement.

Progressive Civility on Display

The standard bearers of tolerance and civility are having some difficulties with tolerance and civility after losing big in Wisconsin last night. Twitchy has a wonderful compilation of tweets from these loving, compassionate and peaceful Americans, including:

Ima be right back! I’m finna go kill #ScottWalker bitch ass dawg. Nbs!—

Lots more in the post. As an aside, I’m sure Twitchy and I are the only ones noticing the obtuse hypocrisy of the left. But the last thing I want is for liberals to feel uncomfortable speaking up. I support your right to free speech! So progressives, please keep talking and tweeting. Speak your truth. The more Americans learn about you, the better off we will all be!

The Other Mr. McCain Goes To Washington

Robert Stacy McCain recently traveled to D.C. and posted an entry titled, “Fear and Loathing on Capitol Hill: The GOP Caucus Is Decadent and Depraved”:

I decided to come to Washington, D.C., today, wearing a Serious Business Suit for a meeting where I had about two minutes to try to explain to Serious People what this is all about and why it matters.

“Where are those spineless Republican bastards in Congress when we need ‘em, huh?” I shouted, trying to explain to a couple of young Beltway professionals the concept behind National Day of Blogger Silence. “They expect us to carry their message and fight their fights, and here we’ve got bloggers getting SWATted and bloggers going to jail and not a single Republican on Capitol Hill has said a f–king word! Not so much as a g–d– two-minute floor speech or a two-sentence press release statement!”

Read the whole thing.

Graduating Senior Denied Diploma Because Family and Friends Cheered

From the “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up Dept.,” Anthony Cornist has been denied his High School Diploma because family and friends cheered too loudly at the graduation ceremony when his name was called. The Senior at Mt. Healthy High School learned that he would not receive his diploma in a letter from the school Principal, that stated,

“I will be holding your diploma in the main office,” the letter said, “due to the excessive cheering your guests displayed during the roll call.”

From the article:

When Anthony walked across the stage at his high school graduation, his family made some noise.

“It was my dream to graduate,” he said.

“I’m very proud of my son,” Traci Cornist said.

Apparently, so were a lot of others.

“Teachers, other students and other family members who weren’t with us were also cheering for him also. He’s well known,” Traci said.

The excitement proved too much for the administration.

The school has demanded that Cornist and/or members of his family do 20 hours of community service. In the meanwhile, the talented football player is on hold with colleges that need the diploma.

Here’s the real problem. Because some kids don’t receive many cheers, other kids can’t receive cheers. We can’t hurt anyone’s feelings. After all, that’s what’s important. Right?

Bloomberg Soda Ban and the Death of Freedom

There has been enough written on Bloomberg, sodas, obesity and freedom in the last few days that there hasn’t been any reason to post on it. But David Frum weighed in for conservatives and he thinks it’s all good, so ridicule I must. In his CNN article, titled, “Bloomberg’s visionary move against obesity” Frum says:

Nobody seems to have a positive word for Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s proposal to ban oversized servings of sugary drinks in New York’s food-service establishments.

Why would anyone have a positive word? Because they can’t control themselves at the Taco Bell soda fountain and need the Government to help them by limiting everyone’s choices?

So let’s defy the trend here and say: Good for Bloomberg. Obesity is America’s most important public health problem, and the mayor has led the way against it. This latest idea may or may not yield results. But it is already raising awareness. Even if it fails to become law, it ought to prod the beverage industry into acting as more responsible corporate citizens.

Apparently he’s serious. AIDS, Cancer, Heart Disease, Stroke, Diabetes, Alzheimers? Aw hell, those are fine! “Obesity is America’s most important Public Health problem.” And what’s important is that the beverage industry, which exists to sell beverages, should be more responsible by actively sabotaging their own business model. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Ignoring Frum, Bloomberg makes one terrible mistake that chills me and should be a clear warning to any American:

“We’re not taking away anybody’s right to do things, we’re simply forcing you to understand that you have to make the conscious decision to go from one cup to another cup,” Bloomberg told MSNBC.

That passes for freedom to Frum and Bloomberg.  It’s truly Orwellian, and it’s scary as hell. Even the obtuse partisans at Huffington Post had the clarity of mind to ask, “After Controversial Bloomberg Proposal, What Foods Would Be Next?
